Chris Troyanos
Chris Troyanos has an extensive record when providing medical leadership and logistical support at several athletic events. He has a 46-year history with the Boston Marathon - 26 of those years as the events Medical Coordinator. His leadership skills have led to a collaborative public safety approach to endurance medical care. Chris leads a committee of over 60 medical professionals and another 1800 on-site medical volunteers. He has been the primary liaison to the various cities and towns supporting the race. His partnerships and relationship building skills have created strong ties with the Department of Public Health, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, and numerous participating hospitals. As the Medical Coordinator to the Boston Athletic Association, he was instrumental in developing the medical coverage plan for the 100th running of Boston Marathon, and the medical response to the 2012 Boston Marathon, where over 2300 runners were successfully treated during an 86-degree day.
During the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings he was a first responder, while coordinating the post bombing response in the hours and days after this tragic event. Over the preceding 6 months following the Boston Marathon tragedy, Chris was implemental in designing and coordinating a global Crisis Management response plan - a plan that addressed the psychological needs of B.A.A. volunteers and runners impacted from the bombings.
In addition to his work with the Boston Marathon, Chris also provided leadership and planning to a variety of Half Marathons, 10K and charity walks. His company, Sports Medicine Consultants manages medical care for over 14 large-scale events each year.
Dr. Jeffrey Claridge
Dr. Jeff Claridge, MD, MS is the Service Line and Division Director of Trauma, Burns, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. He is a Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and recently appointed as a Vice Chair of Surgery at Metrohealth. Recently he was honored to be named the inaugural Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine Colonel McNeal Endowed Professor of Trauma Surgery.
He is the immediate past state chair of the Committee of Trauma for Ohio, which was a 6-year term and is the immediate Past President for both the Surgical Infection Society (SIS) and the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST). He has been recently named the Vice Chair of Surgery at Metrohealth Medical Center.
Dr Claridge has served since 2009 as the Trauma Director at Metrohealth Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center, and actively practices in trauma, emergency general surgery, critical care, and bariatrics. Dr. Claridge was the first medical director of the Northern Ohio Trauma System for 8 years and has since served on the board and as Chair of the Board for 2 years.
He went to medical school at the University of Rochester and did his surgical residency at the University of Virginia. Dr. Claridge did his critical care and trauma fellowship at University of Tennessee in Memphis and moved to his current location in Cleveland in 2005. He has continued to be actively involved in NIH, DOD, and industry sponsored studies. He has numerous chapters and over 150 peer reviewed publications. His twitter handle is @ClaridgeJeffrey.

Dr. Andrew Garlisi
Dr. Garlisi is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He continued his education and obtained a Master's Degree in Public Health as well as a Master's Degree in Business Administration. He is passionate about Emergency Medicine and EMS and currently serves as EMS Medical Director for 48 squads in five different counties and serves as the Medical Director for four Paramedic Training Programs.
Dr. Garlisi has been practicing medicine for 41 years and we are proud to have him today outlining his experience in medicine in rural areas throughout our region.
Dr. Richard George
Dr. George completed his General Surgery Residency and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham as well as an MSPH in Epidemiology. Dr. George joined the faculty at UAB and served as the Associate Burn Director before assuming the Chief and Trauma Medical Director role at Summa Health's Level I Trauma Center (Akron, Ohio).
In Ohio, Dr. George has served on the State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire, and Transportation Services and the Process Improvement Workgroup to the Trauma Committee. In addition, he is the clinical lead for the Ohio Trauma Quality Improvement Program Collaborative, a regional representative for the Ohio Regional Trauma Organization Consortium, a past Chair of Northeastern Ohio Regional Trauma Network, and the current Chair of the Ohio Committee on Trauma to the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
With NIH R01 funding in PTSD, his other research interests are in MCI medical simulation and education as well as stem cell therapy.

Dr. George Ochenjele
Dr. George Ochenjele is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Dr. Ochenjele immigrated to the United States at the age of 18 and earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry from Eastern Illinois University.
He attended medical school at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He stayed in Chicago for another 5 years where he completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Northwestern University/Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. He returned to the Midwest region, Cleveland, Ohio where he works at a very busy Level I trauma center caring for patients with complex extremity, pelvic and acetabulum injuries.
His expertise also includes performing anterior hip replacement surgeries for primary and posttraumatic hip arthritis. He spends significant amount of his time educating and mentoring medical students and residents in and out of the operating room.
Dr. Ochenjele is an active member of numerous professional societies including the American Orthopaedic Association Emerging Leaders Program, AO Trauma North America, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
Dr. Laura Kreiner
Dr. Kreiner joined the trauma team at MetroHealth in 2014 after completing her general surgery residency at the University of Texas in Houston, and Trauma/Critical Care Fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon.
After helping with the expansion of our trauma partnership, to include Level III trauma centers in the community, she assumed the role of associate trauma medical director at MetroHealth. When not at work she loves napping on the couch and negotiating with her dog for equal share of said couch.

Dr. Michael Dingeldein
Dr. Dingeldein is a pediatric surgeon at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital where he has also served as the Trauma Director, Surgical Director of the PICU, and Surgical Director of ECLS for the past 8 years.
He grew up here in northeast Ohio in Painesville. He did undergrad at University of Cincinnati, medical school at Ohio State, general surgery residency and critical care fellowship in Chicago and pediatric surgery fellowship at Oklahoma Children's. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Case Western.
Nationally he serves as the leader of the Trauma Domain for the EMSC Innovation and Improvement Center and leader of the trauma domain for the ASPR FEMA V for Kids national disaster center of excellence.

Christine Sabel
Christine Sabel is a mother to two teenagers and works as an Executive Business Administrator. She enjoys reading, walking/hiking and yoga. In her spare time, she volunteers with the MetroHealth Trauma Recovery department visiting trauma patients. She has hopes that her story will inspire patients to push through the tough times along their journey to recovery.
