Ed Dabkowski
Ed Dabkowski is a Research Associate at the Case Western Reserve University Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education. He has been in that role since September 2020 joining the staff after a nearly 30 year career with the U.S. Department of Justice.
Ed's focus at the Begun Center includes projects researching gun violence, violent extremism, and opioid overdose. Before joining the Begun Center he held a variety of investigative and leadership positions in Washington D.C., South Carolina, Michigan, and Ohio. Prior to his retirement from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, he was an Assistant Special Agent in Charge in Michigan and later Ohio were he led a wide range of multidisciplinary initiatives to address and disrupt firearms violence.
Ed holds a B.A. from Miami University and an M.A. from George Washington University.
