Next Step in Trauma Care
Trauma nurses play a critical role in a patient care from emergency room to rehabilitation. Specialized trauma nurse education equips nurses with the advanced clinical skills, decision-making abilities, and emotional resilience needed to manage high-stakes, high-pressure situations. The American College of Surgeons (ACS) is a key leader in setting the standards for trauma care in the U.S. this new course fulfills the ACS requirement for trauma nurses and trauma centers.
The class size is limited to 32 participants to facilitate learning and the use of simulation. NOTS content experts from our regional trauma centers facilitate the course. Managers must approve all registrations.

Course Objective
The course focus is on the initial and post-resuscitation needs of trauma patients, including ongoing assessments, anticipation, and evaluation of interventions while developing critical thinking skills.
- Recognize and treat key signs and symptoms of trauma
- Understand primary, and secondary survey
- Increase fund of knowledge on pathophysiology of a trauma patient
Who is this course for?
- Nurses with at least 1 year of experience in trauma care (up to your manager's discretion)
- Course is for ED, ICU, Floor, and PACU nurses
