
Vanessa Ho, MD, PhD, MPH, FACS
Dr. Ho is a Professor of Surgery and Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve University and an acute care surgery in the Department of Surgery and Division of Trauma, Critical Care, Emergency General Surgery, and Burns at the MetroHealth System. With clinical expertise in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency General Surgery, she serves as the Vice Chair of Research in Surgery and as core faculty of the Case Western Reserve University Center for Health Equity, Engagement, Education, and Research (CHEEER).
Dr. Ho completed the KL2 Scholar Career Development program through the CWRU Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative (CTSC) and obtained a PhD in Clinical and Translational Science. With more than 150 publications, Dr. Ho's research seeks to leverage systems to improve person-centered outcomes after unexpected surgical catastrophes. In 2023, Dr. Ho led a 2-day Summit for the Advancement of Focused Equity Research in Trauma (SAFER-Trauma), supported by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
Dr. Ho currently is the Medical Director of the MetroHealth Trauma Recovery Center and co-leads the Centering Survivors And Families Collaboration of Cleveland (C-SAF-CLE), an academic community partnership dedicated to the elimination of gun violence.
